The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
– St. Augustine
Exchange programs have been going on for more than 50 years! Schools are an integral part of that process. We could not provide the experiences we do without school involvement. Many schools open their classroom doors to exchange students throughout the year, thereby creating an opportunity for these students to have a more balanced view of our country. The international students who come here provide connections for our students to a part of the world they have never experienced! These experiences offer American students the chance to:
- Create cross-cultural friendships
- Learn about other cultures and customs
- Understand the importance of learning other languages and studying other cultures
- Open doors to peace through great understanding of each others core values
It’s our hope that our schools will use our students as the wonderful resource they are. We want each of our schools to encourage our students to be guest speakers in classrooms and do special projects to help us all learn more about life outside of our wonderful country! Having our students involved in this way helps them feel like part of our community too.
