Amy J., a dedicated community advisor in North Carolina, is committed to creating unforgettable experiences for her students. Her recent excursion with her BFF group to Oak Island, NC, was a perfect example of her passion for providing enriching experiences and new opportunities.

The group took the ferry from Southport to the Ft. Fisher Aquarium and then back to Southport for dinner. The students enjoyed new foods and even tried alligator! March is full of unpredictable weather in North Carolina. Gray skies and high winds didn’t keep them from having a good time. The group represents five countries: Spain, France, Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Poland, seven cultures and 11 languages.

The weekend is full of new experiences like fishing, trying new foods, dolphin sightings, and playing in the sand. For some students, this could be their first encounter with the beach, and sharing these experiences makes hosting and working as a CA so special.
