Program Extension Request
Students wishing to extend their program beyond 7 days must request an extension from BFF
DEADLINE May 15, 2026
Students must depart the United States within seven (7) days of the last official school day, unless BFF grants written approval for a program extension. Approved extensions allow a student to remain in the U.S. for up to 30 days after the last day of school or until the visa expiration date, whichever comes first.
Program Extension Requests
You may request a program extension only after discussing the request with your host family and natural parents and confirming that everyone agrees. Extensions are granted at BFF’s discretion and only for students who are in good standing with the program.
You must complete this extension request for any reason that will have you in the U.S longer than seven days past the last day of school, including travel with your natural parent(s).
To request an extension, complete all of the following steps by the stated deadline:
- Complete and submit the extension request form below.
- Submit the $100 administrative fee (if applicable) by clicking the button below the form.
In the payment note, enter: FULL NAME – Extension Request - Wait for written approval from BFF before booking any travel.
- Requests are processed in the order received.
- Once approved, submit updated return flight information to travel@borderlessfriends.org
